This fully guided adventure takes you some of the best parts of Australia. It is let by local Tasmanian guides who are experienced trail runners and know the trails well.

This open to  runners and hikers of all abilities. We will take you to some of best trails in Victoria's High Country and throughout Tasmania

 

DETAILED ITINERARY

 

Wednesday 26th October - Fly to Melbourne International Airport from Melbourne CBD 

Stay in a central Melbourne accommodation for 2 nights.  Rest day. Breakfast Included

 

Thursday 27th October - Melbourne sightseeing and a run around the iconic regions of Melbourne, including the Botanical gardens, Yarra River and Melbourne Cricket ground.

 

Friday 28th October – Drive to Bright 3.5 hours. Short run or walk along the river from Bright.  Stay in central Bright accommodation for 4 nights including Breakfast and Dinner.

 

Saturday 29th October – Bright Alpine Climbs. Bright Alpine Climbs involves running or walking up four mountains over four days, each of which is over m high.  The event let’s runners start whenever they like between 6:30am and 9am, with people of all ages and abilities. Runners do not need to run each day, and many people actually just do a couple of days walk/run. Mt. Mystic (11km of steep up and down running)

 

Sunday 30th October – Drive from Bright to Harrietville total of 50km.  Mt Feathertop (13km up and then jog back down totaling 26km)

 

Monday 31st October – Mt. Hotham (runners will need to be transported off the top. Mt. Hotham (15km uphill)

 

Tuesday 1st November –

Transport from Bright to Melbourne International Airport (3.5 hours). Late flight to Launceston – Transport from Launceston Airport to Hotel in Launceston CBD. Overnight Breakfast Included

 

Wednesday 2nd November – Drive to Cradle Mountain (2 to 2.5 hours) Gentle run or walk around Launceston’s famous Cataract Gorge in the morning. An evening platypus walk  from the lodge. Possible side trips or stops are: Mole Creek Caves, Mt Roland Summit, Deloraine, Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm, and Sheffield (town of murals) Accommodation for 2 nights, Cradle Mountain Chateau. Breakfast and Dinner Included

 

Thursday 3rd November – Drive to Dove Lake. Many running or walking options, including the ascent of Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake Circuit, or a full day excursion. A must are the two waterfalls located close to the Cradle Mountain Lodge.  Paddling on Dove Lake and the art gallery at Cradle Mountain Chateau and health spa is also available. Breakfast and Dinner Included

 

Friday 4th November – Drive to Hobart (5 hours with a stop in Campbell town). Rest day, with sightseeing in Hobart and the midlands region of Tasmania. Optinal run through Battery Point to the Cascade Brewery. Overnight Hobart 2 nights with breakfast included

 

Saturday 5th November – Morning run to great the sunrise around the Hobart waterfront to the Botanical Gardens. Options include Salamanca Market, Bike descent off Mt Wellington www.mtwellingtondescent.com.au or a gentle evening paddle around the Hobart Docks www.freycinetadventures.com.au/hobart-sea-kayaking

 

Sunday 6th November – Drive to Freycinet National Park. Visit Richmond historic village and maze, Meadowbank winery, Spikey Beach, Swansea and Freycinet Vineyard. Short siteseeing journeys to Cape Tourville Lighthouse, friendly Beaches or the White Water Wall rock climbing district in the National Park. Accommodations for 2 nights at Freycinet Lodge. Breakfast and Dinner Included

 

Monday 7th November – Morning run around the Hazards Beach circuit taking in world famous Wineglass Bay. Afternoon or evening paddle from Coles Bay www.freycinetadventures.com.au/

 

Tuesday 8th November – Drive to Launceston via Douglas Apsely National park and Elephant Pass Pancake Pallor.  Late afternoon or evening flight to Melbourne Airport.. Extend your stay in Melbourne or continue on to your next destination
